Terms of service

The terms under which this website is provided and under which we quote and supply containers. Written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

Short answer

Quotations hold for seven days. Grading descriptions are honest assessments, not warranties of fitness. Technical guidance on this site is general orientation, not regulatory advice.

Ask before you order rather than after. We would far rather explain a term than argue about one later.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of ibcrecyclingservices.com and the commercial dealings that begin through it. Using this website means you accept them. If you order from us, any written quotation, order confirmation or agreed contract takes precedence over this page where they conflict.

2. Quotations

Quotations are valid for seven days from issue unless stated otherwise. Used-container inventory turns constantly and freight rates move, and we would rather re-quote than honour a number that has stopped being accurate. A quotation is an invitation to order, not a binding contract, until we confirm the order.

3. Container grading and descriptions

We grade containers honestly and describe defects before purchase. Grades A, B and C, and terms such as reconditioned and rebottled, are used as defined on this website — see used tote grading and rebottled versus reconditioned.

A grading description is an honest professional assessment of condition. It is not a warranty that a container is fit for your particular product, process or regulatory context. Determining suitability for your application — including chemical compatibility, regulatory approval and food safety — is your responsibility, and we will help you do it if you tell us what you are planning.

4. Prior contents and food service

We supply prior-contents documentation with reconditioned and food-grade stock. We do not supply used industrial containers for food, beverage or potable service under any circumstances, and we will decline such orders regardless of instruction.

5. Regulated cargo

Where we supply UN-rated containers with current leakproofness testing, we issue the corresponding test records. Compliance with the transport regulations applicable to your shipment, mode and jurisdiction — including correct filling, closure, marking, placarding and documentation — remains your responsibility.

6. Containers you sell to us

When you sell containers to us you confirm that you have the right to sell them and that you have disclosed all known prior contents. Regulated or hazardous residue must be declared before collection. Undisclosed residue may result in a load being refused at collection and any costs arising being recharged.

7. Freight and delivery

Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith and depend on carrier scheduling. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery site can receive the load — access, equipment, receiving hours and, critically, vertical clearance. Failed deliveries caused by site conditions not disclosed to us may incur costs.

8. Payment

First orders are typically prepaid or paid on delivery. Established accounts operate on terms agreed in writing. Title in goods passes on payment in full. All prices are in US dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated.

9. Technical guidance on this site

The guides, size charts, calculators and reference material on this website are provided for general orientation. Emission and material figures in the Impact Lab are conservative planning estimates and not a certified life-cycle assessment. Regulatory summaries are not legal or regulatory advice. Verify anything that matters against the current regulation or standard applicable to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from any order is limited to the value of the goods or services supplied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of production, profit or contracts. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Intellectual property

The content, design, calculators and reference material on this website belong to IBC Recycling Services. You may read, print and share it for your own business purposes. You may not republish it as your own or use it to train commercial models without permission.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state.

Questions we get about this

01How long does a quote stand?
Seven days. Used-container inventory turns constantly and freight rates move, so beyond a week we re-quote rather than honour a number that has stopped being accurate.
02Is a grading description a warranty?
No. It is an honest professional assessment of condition. Determining suitability for your particular product, process or regulatory context is your responsibility — and we will help you do it if you tell us the plan.
03Who is responsible for regulatory compliance on a shipment?
You are. Where we supply UN-rated containers with current testing we issue the corresponding records, but correct filling, closure, marking, placarding and documentation for your shipment remain yours.
04What happens if undeclared hazardous residue turns up?
The load may be refused at collection and any costs arising may be recharged. It is entirely avoidable — one line in an email before the truck is booked.
05What is the limit of your liability?
To the extent permitted by law, the value of the goods or services supplied. Indirect and consequential loss is excluded. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
